Works Fast with Guaranteed Results!
www.ZENMED.com

Common Acne Myths

Try asking people advice regarding your acne and chances are, they would tell you that it is due to your poor hygiene, poor diet or that you are in love.

However, skin experts are actually dismissing those as nothing but myths. The best way to cope with your acne problem is to educate yourself and it is with this purpose that we decided to list here the common acne myths that people often encounter.

Acne is not a caused by a poor hygiene. Many people believe that acne is caused by poor hygiene; therefore they tend to over-wash their skin. However, washing too frequently and too aggressively can strip the skin of its natural lipids, damaging the skin's natural barrier function. In response, the follicle will produce excess sebum and possibly additional breakouts. So unless you get yourself dirty on regular basis (like a mechanic, perhaps), do not over-wash your face.

Acne is caused by certain foods. The common misconception is that eating junk food will lead to or worsen an acne condition. Scientific studies have shown that diet has little to no effect on acne. This varies depending on the person. While eating healthy and balanced diet is encouraged for our health, there is really no scientific evidence that connects certain foods to acne. If you are one of those who are affected by certain foods, it is always wise to avoid them.

You can outgrow your acne. It is much more sensible to treat your acne immediately to avoid emotional stress and permanent scarring.

Acne is just a little problem, no need to overreact. It is embarrassing to have acne, thus can affect our confidence and esteem. It may even affect our social relation and job performance.

Acne is just a cosmetic disease. Heavy and oily make up may contribute to acne build up. However, cosmetics labeled non-comedogenic or non-acnegenic might actually contain benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid that may help to fight acne.

Stress can cause acne. While over stress may actually produce hormones that can aggravate acne; normal, everyday stress does not really trigger acne.

Getting a tan would clear up acne. While sun exposure may dry out existing acne, it will not prevent new ones from forming. It can also over dry the skin thus sebaceous glands will produce more oil that will ultimately worsen your condition. It will also increase your risk of skin cancer and wrinkles.

So there, the next time somebody tells you one of those things, gracefully correct them and share what you know. Remember, knowledge is power.

Technorati tags :Acne Treatment Acne Acne-Treatment Acne Care Acne Solution Cosmetics Skin Care Adult Acne Acne Care Acne Medication successful acne treatment

Control Your Chest Acne

ZENMED® Acne Treatment
Clears acne from the inside-out. This image has slowly diminished with today’s rapidly changing lifestyle. Studies have shown that at present, approximately fifty-four percent of the female population in their adulthood are suffering from various forms of acne problems. These problems may include pimples, blackheads and epidermal cysts. As teens, people acquire acne because of some genetic factors that may have left them prone to this condition. However, in adulthood, acne may come not only from the genetic factor, but also from the hormonal changes, stressful lifestyle, urban pollution and various preparations and medications such as birth-control pills. Since hormonal changes, like that induced by menopause, are more drastic in women, they are also more prone to acne problems as compared to men. Only forty percent of adult men at present are suffering from these skin irritations.

Acne conditions in adulthood starts with the shedding of epidermal cells. The flakes shed by the epidermis then clog up the skin’s pores. Meanwhile, oil is produced by the oil glands in the skin, which should, ideally, be released through these pores. Since the pores are clogged, the oild builds up under the skin, creating a conducive environment for bacteria growth.

One form of acne problem common in women as well as men is the chest acne. People suffer from facial acne due to its increased exposure to pollution and other external acne-inducing factors. However, people’s bodies may also become prone to acne when the internal factors like hormonal change, genes, and medication are accompanied by perspiration trapped by synthetic clothing.

The best way to avoid this condition is to wear breathable fabrics, like cotton, in order to induce evaporation of sweat. Another effective control measure against acne on the chest, neck and collar areas is the ClearPores body wash and lotion. When used once every morning and every night, the ClearPores body wash will prevent the breakout of body acne. It is best to make ClearPores a daily regimen with the wash accompanied by the ClearPores lotion, to be used twice every week and the ClearPores Pills to be ingested for internal control of blemishes.

Technorati tags :Acne Treatment Acne Acne-Treatment Acne Care Acne Solution Cosmetics Skin Care Adult Acne Acne Care Acne Medication successful acne treatment

Different Acne treatments

ZENMED® Acne Treatment
Clears acne from the inside-out. Works Fast with Guaranteed Results!
www.ZENMED.com

Different Acne treatments

Acne is the most common skin disorder known today. In United States alone, nearly 60 million people are infected with acne, while 85 per cent of teenagers suffer from it.

Skin experts and practitioners recommend several natural acne treatments. Here are some that we have compiled just for you.

Wash your face twice a day (thrice at most) with gentle and unperfumed cleanser. Avoid using soaps as they contain harsh chemicals and ingredients that can damage your skin.

Avoid touching your face. Stop putting your hands by your face! I am often guilty of this resting my hand on the side of my head while reading. Also rubbing or bracing your chin is another common problem when thinking. Avoid rubbing, touching, or scratching your skin with your hands. Your hands contain a lot of bacteria that can cause acne flare-ups. It is probably one of the most difficult things to avoid since much of the hand to face contact throughout the day we are unconscious of. Make it a habit to avoid hand contact and be conscious of it during the day to avoid bacteria.

Avoid the temptation to pick, prick and squeeze your acne. This will send the infection deeper into the skin and can cause severe scarring.

For mild to moderate acne, you can use over-the-counter topical ointments, solutions, lotions or gels that contain benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or azelaic acid as an alternative to benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide is best at killing P. acnes and may reduce oil production. Resorcinol, salicylic acid, and sulfur help break down blackheads and whiteheads. Salicylic acid also helps cut down the shedding of cells lining the follicles of the oil glands.

Topical antibiotic solutions and lotions can also be applied.

Tea tree oil is a natural antibiotic and antibacterial agent and has a drying effect on the skin. It keeps the P. Acnes bacteria at bay along with decreasing facial oiliness, which makes this oil a worthwhile investment.

Sulfur helps to heal existing blemishes by unblocking pores.

Alpha or Beta Hydroxy Acids (AHA or BHA) works by keeping the skin exfoliated. Glycolic acid, the most well known of the bunch is a useful adjuvant therapy for mild acne. Mandelic acid, a lesser known one, but one that combines the keratolytic properties of glycolic acid, with natural antibacterial properties that help reduce the presence of P. acnes, may be considered a more effective alpha hydroxy acid in treating acne lesions. It is also much less irritating than glycolic acid, a factor that may be very important to those with sensitive skin who are unable to use other agents such as Retin-A, benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, or salicylic acid. It is effective in treating mild cases of acne on its own, and can be used successfully with other therapies on moderate acne.

These treatments are usually effective for mild to moderate acne problems only. The effectiveness usually takes several weeks or approximately three to six months to be noticed. For more severe and serious acne conditions, do not hesitate to consult your dermatologist.

Technorati tags :Acne Treatment Acne Acne-Treatment Acne Care Acne Solution Cosmetics Skin Care Adult Acne Acne Care Acne Medication successful acne treatment

Types of Acne -Teen or Adult & Glossary

Types of Acne -Teen or Adult & Glossary
by Nina Romanov

You probably want to know what kind of acne you might have .It was during my quest for acne treatments that work, that I came across this information, and am only too happy to share it with you and other acne sufferers.

Let me start by listing some of the many different types of acne. It is extremely difficult to find a cure for this type of acne. Understand dirty skin does not cause acne but can certainly aggravate the condition. Treat your skin gently and respectfully. If you further damage your skin with vigorous scrubbing, you are creating and ideal climate for further acne breakouts.

Proper washing of the skin is a vital part of any acne treatment. It helps to remove dead skin cells and excess oil that can clog the pores. Don't overwash or vigorously scrub your skin, as this can irritate the skin. Always be gentle with your skin. Overwashing is damaging and counterproductive to your treatment.

Tea tree oil body wash can be used all over the body including the face. It contains nothing that can aggravate your acne. Tea tree oil contains antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal, antiviral and antimicrobial agents. It can be used as a shower gel, facial cleanser, and even a bubble bath! The best acne products are the ones that are natural.

Carefully read the labels and make sure you are not using two types of medications in your acne wash and cleanser.

Gently cleansing your skin with natural tea oil is gentle on your skin. Don't wash your skin more than twice a day, it dries your skin and removes natural body oils. If you must use a moisturizer, make sure you get one made for acne prone skin.

Adding the right moisturizer can help to improve your acne. Proper treatment with the right adult acne facial skin treatment may well mean that you don't need to add any other acne products.

Find more about acne at: http://www.acne-adult-skin-care-products-and-treatments.com

About the Author
Nina is an expert freelance writer. You can buy packs of pH test strips from some chemists but I find it easier to purchase online. I use Alkalive Ph Test Stix. They come at a good price for 80 strips and are very easy to use. I buy mine from Amazon.com

The ideal pH level for a body is between 6.75 and 7.25 and bare in mind that this will change very quickly (hours). Each person will require a different amount of change in their diets according to their size, weight, age, and starting pH level.

In general, to achieve a healthy pH balance, 50% of your diet should be raw vegetables. And of the remaining 50%, cooked or otherwise, at least half should be fruits or vegetables. Food and drinks with no nutritional value should be avoided all together. These include soft drinks, sweets, most deserts, processed meats and other processed foods.

Meats in general should be minimised to only the required intake (3-4 servings per week) and limited to white meats like fish, chicken and turkey whenever possible. Dairy products should also be excluded from the diet as they are one of the main causes of the build up of mucus in the body. Soy products should be used instead.

For a more detailed description of the right diet to achive pH balance, I started with the these book:

The pH Miracle

The Acid-Alkaline Diet

or for an easy reference guide to the pH effects of individual foods try out this book:

The Acid-Alkaline Food Guide

I personally use The Acid-Alkaline Food Guide but if you are new to the idea of pH balance in your diet I recommend The pH Miracle or The Acid-Alkaline Diet because they provide more detail on the effects of acidic and alkaline foods in general. Once you feel you are comfortable with your understanding of pH balance you may want to switch to the guide for ease of use.

About the Author
George Cleanthous provides free articles on acne causes, acne treatments, acne symptoms, acne medicine, and generally how to deal with acne. Many people develop acne on the chest, shoulders and back, which can sometimes be the first inkling to the emergence of more severe forms of acne. The severe forms of acne are painful and can only be treated with drugs under the supervision of a dermatologist.

ZENMED® Acne TreatmentClears acne from the inside-out. Hard to treat cases are better left to a dermatologist’s skills, although ClearPores is certainly up to the task. The best way to treat acne is to cleanse the skin with a solution containing Salicylic Acid and SD Alcohol 40. The ClearPores body and face washes contain these two excellent ingredients, which are accompanied by the well-known Aloe Vera (to soothe the skin and help the healing process), Dandelion Root and Yellow Dock.

Despite recent scientific investigations, researchers are still in the dark about what causes body acne. You best option is to avoid anything that could cause or worsen your acne. Keep your facial and body skin clean every day and be careful not to trigger acne or rashes by wearing very tight clothing or heavy backpacks. If you feel your clothing, backpack or purse is causing you skin problems, then start thinking about alternatives.

Neck acne is known among professionals as a difficult proposition. The skin on your neck is one of the most sensitive areas of your body. It needs more moisturizing and care from you than, say, you back skin. However, ClearPores can take care of acne even on your neck and is also gentle to your sensitive skin.

CLEARPORES-CLEAR BODY NECK BACK ACNE

The pros and cons of Retinoids

The pros and cons of Retinoids

One of the most common ways of treating acne is the use of retinoids. Retinoids are substances derived from Vitamin A, which attempt to cure acne by normalizing the lifecycle of follicle cells. There are two types of such substances, based on application: external (topical) and oral. The best known external retinoids are Retin-A, Differin and Tazorac, while the oral retinoids list is headed by the popular Accutane.

Retinoids are derivatives of Vitamin A and share the parent substance’s effects of reducing the secretion of oil from the glands located in the skin. This primary effect is what makes retinoids so effective against acne. The long-term (4-6 months) decrease in oil secretion means that hair follicles are less likely to clog and turn into pimples and, in most cases, acne is gone for good by the end of the treatment period. However, about one quarter of the patients who used Accutane or other drugs based on isotretinoin may relapse and require additional treatment.

Dealing with Adult Acne
ZENMED® Acne TreatmentClears acne from the inside-out. Works Fast with Guaranteed Results!www.ZENMED.com

Acne is a skin disease, which is prevalent in all age groups and sexes. In its severe cases, the simple appearing pimples, cysts or nodes may take the shape of permanent scars, which obviously are not admirable.

But the biggest drawback of retinoids is the long list of side effects, which sometimes makes retinoids look like a disease rather than a cure. Retinoids are used only under the close supervision of a dermatologist precisely because of these side effects. If a patient needs more than one treatment, the doctor will always insist on letting a few months pass between the treatments in order to give the body a chance to recover. The most common side effects are dry skin and nosebleeds. Many patients have also reported liver problems, while a few complained of depression. However, the scientific community is still split on the issue of depression. More seriously, isotretinoin is known to cause birth defects, which is why female patients have to use two separate forms of birth control or vow abstinence during the treatment. Pregnant women are not allowed to use anything but the mildest treatments.

The bottom line is that retinoids are a good idea if one can cope with the side effects. This begs the question: why not use something just as effective, but without the side effects. Acne treatment systems, such as ClearPores, are also popular because of their success in dealing with the condition, but lack the extreme side that makes retinoids a pain to use. The choice between these treatments is yours.

Go to ClearPores Acne Treatment System

Short-term boon or long-term solution; exfoliation versus ClearPores

Short-term boon or long-term solution; exfoliation versus ClearPores

Acne is the common enemy of almost all teenagers and of a good number of adults, too. Although acne involves physical pain only in the most severe cases, the condition has a negative psychological impact because of its high level of visibility. Acne is right there in your face, where everybody can see it. Every mirror is a reminder that your skin is working against you and that you cannot escape it. In a world obsessed with physical perfection and social interaction, acne is not a burden easily born. Early breakthroughs in the use of various substances and the large number of patients willing to try anything has been the basis of finding new methods of curing acne, whether permanently or temporarily.

One of the best ways to fight mild cases of acne is to speed up the natural exfoliation process of your skin. Exfoliation is the process by which the topmost layer of your skin, which contains many dead cells, is removed by mechanical or chemical means. Clearing away dead skin helps prevent the clogging of pores by a combination of excess sebum and dead cells. Exfoliation is not meant in the visible sense of the word, since you won’t see skin peeling away as in the case of shedding. The topmost layer of your skin is too thin to be seen with the naked eye.

The recommended procedures for speeding up the exfoliation process feature the use of mechanical means (abrasive cloths or liquid scrubs) or chemical means (Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid). Salicylic Acid is actually the most recommended exfoliation agent, since it also helps to unclog pores whose openings have already been obstructed by sebum and dead cells. In this manner, your skin will be pimple-free for a longer period of time. Over-the-counter Salicylic Acid solution or cotton pads soaked in Acid should be available in every pharmacy or drugstore. You can safely and easily use these at home to take care of acne flare-ups.

However, if you are interested in employing a better solution to your acne problems, you can try the ClearPores Acne Treatment system. This amazingly-effective system combines the cleansing power of the Salicylic Acid and Alcohol SD with herbal pills and a protection cream in order to rid you of acne now and also to prevent future acne flare-ups. The herbal pills kill bacteria which tend to thrive in clogged pores, the deep facial and body washes open up the pores and cleanse the dirt and grime and, finally, the protection cream acts as a shield for your skin. As you can see, ClearPores is not a single product, but a full solution designed to destroy acne with the utmost effectiveness.

An Effective Acne Scar Treatment by Morgan Hamilton

If you have ever had acne and you'll know it really is no fun at all. I have been settled with bad skin ever since my teen years, so I am all too familiar with the shame and embarrassment that results from having a face full of pimples. One unique characteristic about this skin problem is the fact that sometimes it doesn't clear up completely, and in extreme cases, can even lead to scarring. That is exactly what happened to me, which was pretty much a sentence that I had the carry around reminders of my skin problems for the rest of my life. Fortunately, however, I discovered several acne scar treatments that have worked wonders.

My dermatologist has discussed the acne scar treatments with me for years, but they are not cheap and financial difficulties prevented me from doing anything with it. My insurance company was no help at all because they consider the process to be an elective procedure so it was clear that any treatments that I received would have to be paid for out of my own pocket and I just didn't have the money.

But, as they always do, things have changed considerably over time. Now acne scar treatments are much more prevalent and are cheaper than ever before. From what I was able to gather, they work a hell of lot better too. So I had no Moorish uses and I finally did what I intend to do this alone and that is to finally have packaged our treatments.

First-order business was to learn exactly which treatment of the best for me. As with most things, there are several different kinds of acne scar treatments at my disposal, so I had to do some homework on the subject trivially learn what was best for me. I found that choosing the right basically is a combination of several factors, including the hope that the scarring actually was and how much money I was prepared to spend. In cases where the scarring is more or less negligible, over-the-counter creams and ointments might just do the trick. In more serious cases, advanced acne scar treatments it may be necessary to employ prescription medications and laser treatments.

Another thing I learned is that acne scar treatments can help lessen the effects of scarring, but won't actually remove the scars completely. Even so, there was an absolutely huge improvement when the doctor showed me the before and after photos that my dermatologist took during my original consultation. But my dermatologist also reminded me that not everyone is the same, and that results can and do very from person to person. Nevertheless, my mind was made up, I knew I was going to undergo acne scar treatments.

Overall, I have to say that was very happy my final decision. I am happy to report that my skin's appearance did improve dramatically as a result of the acne scar treatments I chose, and now I feel really good about myself. If your skin is causing you embarrassment and preventing you from enjoying your life, I highly recommend looking into some acne scar treatments today.

About the Author
Morgan Hamilton offers expert advice and great tips regarding all aspects concerning acne treatment. I tried topical treatments to no avail, and antibiotics.

Eventually I found the only thing to work successfully for me was the Pill (Marvelon).

However, the downside is that if I stop taking it the acne returns. Many of us struggle with this harmless, yet aggravating condition. Fallacies about acne are abundant, as well. Hopefully this article will help you sort out the fact from the fiction.

Fact: Acne is caused by oil secreted by the skin

Yes, it is true that one of the major components of acne is oil secreted by sebaceous glands, which are found in the skin of all mammals.

Fact: Acne is caused by blocked pores

Yes, dead skin cells and excessive oil secretions combine to block the pores in the skin. These blocked pores then begin to grow the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes. The body may then have an allergic reaction to these bacteria. These factors combine to cause an inflammatory response by your body, which is what we call acne.

Fiction: Acne is caused is caused by improper hygiene

While it is true that acne is caused by blocked pores, better hygiene cannot prevent acne. All of the scrubbing in the world cannot unblock or prevent the blocking of pores, because the blockage is well below the surface of the skin.

Fiction: Acne is cause by diet

While acne is caused by excessive oil secretions, changing your diet to exclude oilier foods is not likely to help. It affects not only their physical appearance, but may also affect their self-esteem and feelings of self-worth. Many teens are often afraid to go to social events or participate in extra activities because they are afraid of how others may see them.
Acne can be caused by a variety of factors, but hormones are believed to be a leading cause of acne in teens. This can also cross over into adult acne. Hormones cause the body to produce excess oil, which in turn clogs pores and causes pimples. The good news is, acne is very treatable and by figuring out its cause, you can find a treatment.
Having acne has nothing to do with what you eat or how often you wash your face, two common myths often associated with this condition. Washing your face too much, however, can cause the skin to become dry and irritated, and may, therefore, irritate existing acne, but it does not actually cause more acne to form.
One of the best ways to combat acne is to try to prevent it. This involves finding its cause and taking measures to treat it. By doing so, you are treating existing acne, while treating the root of its cause.
Since teens often produce more oil than do adults, it is important to wash twice a day with a mild cleanser that won’t irritate or dry the skin. This helps eliminate excess oil, while wiping away any unwanted dirt and bacteria. It is also important to keep the skin properly hydrated and moisturized. Oily doesn’t equal moisture. Skin that is oily must be moisturized as well. All these things can be accomplished by washing the face. The excess oil will be removed, while the face will be hydrated and moisturized. A moisturizing cream may also help to keep moisture in the skin, which will help prevent it from becoming dry and irritated.
While it is good to exfoliate, it is important that you do not use a harsh product to do so. Use a gentle formula containing small grains. These will be less harsh to your skin and will remove dead skin without irritating the healthy skin and aggravating the acne.
Avoid products that contain substantial amounts of alcohol, as this can cause your glands to produce more oil, or dry and irritate your skin. Instead, use a gentle toner that will help even your skin.
Don’t squeeze or pick at your pimples. This can only cause them to become more inflamed because the bacteria are pushed deeper into the skin.
Choose makeup products wisely. Don’t use products that have cause past breakouts, and use those that are noncometigenic, meaning they won’t clog your pores.
No matter the cause, it is important to find a cure. Find a regimen that works for you and stick to it. If your acne persists, consult a physician. There are medications that can help treat many forms of acne. Finding a solution will help you feel better about yourself.
About the Author:
TR Brown Logo registration Directory: http://logoreg.com/

Steps to Proactive Acne Treatment
by Nnamdi

Proactive acne treatment involves the complete management of acne until it is finally healed. Since acne is a chronic skin affliction characterised by inflammation of the sebaceous glands and hair follicles, proactive acne treatment should deal with the root causes of acne. The aim of proactive acne treatment is, among other things, to reduce the factors that give rise to acne and promote speedy healing where it has occurred.

Prominent among the possible causes of acne are:
•Hereditary tendency;
•Sex hormone imbalance at puberty;
•Impaired fat metabolism.

Proactive acne treatment will, therefore, attempt to attack these root causes of acne. The chief target of proactive acne treatment is to prevent the psychological stress associated with acne since acne comes at a time majority of the victims want to look their best.
Of the three major causes of acne above, impaired fat metabolism can be reasonably controlled.

Therefore proactive acne treatment should involve responsible dieting. Though the possible effect of diet in causing acne has not been positively determined, I [and some others] think it is an important factor in proactive acne treatment. Positive change in diet has a lot to do with proactive treatment of acne.

Proactive Acne Treatment and Food
To aid in the proactive treatment of acne, the following should be observed:
1. A conservative diet should be observed. Excesses of fat [especially the saturated fats of animal origin], pastries, chocolate and greasy foods should be avoided.
2. Consumption of fruits and vegetables [raw, as far as possible] should be encouraged.
3. Tea, coffee, cocoa, cola drinks and all alcoholic beverages should be avoided.
4. Do not ingest medicines unless prescribed by an authorized person
5. Sugar should be avoided; Foods with artificial flavors and preservatives should also be avoided.
6. White Bread? Avoid it. Whole wheat bread is a good substitute.

In addition to the above, for effective proactive acne treatment,
[a] Get eight to nine hours of sleep each day
[b] Carry out a gentle body exercise daily
[c] Keep your hands away from your face and other affected areas
[d] Do not apply cream, oil, ointment or grease of any type to the affected skin areas.

You are well on your way to recovery through this proactive acne treatment steps. Not only will your acne be gone, you will not have to suffer from acne again [at least as a result of metabolic disorder].

Feel free to use this article as you wish.
